Biography

Born in Selfoss, Iceland, in 1965, Christine Gísla is a talented photographer who captures life, beauty, stillness, and moments in time through her art. A graduate of the School of Photography in Reykjavik, she uses photography as an expressive medium, deeply influenced by Icelandic nature and the light it offers. Her work evokes a sense of mystique through her play with movement, light, and stillness. Christine’s photography reflects the threads of her life’s journey and the healing beauty of nature. She’s had solo exhibitions in Iceland, Taiwan, and upcoming shows in Mauritius and Spain. Her works have been featured in prestigious group exhibitions, including the Reykjavik Winter Festival and the Icelandic Contemporary Photography Association. Her accolades include an honorable mention at the 21st Julia Margaret Cameron Award for abstract/still life in 2023. Christine continues to explore and share her artistic voice globally.
