Biography

Lenny Ratnasari Weichert studied Art Education at Yogyakarta State University and Sculpture at the Indonesian Institute of Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta. Based in Jakarta and Yogyakarta, she is a multimedia artist exploring identity, gender, and cultural intersections between the Orient and Occident. Her international career includes scholarships and projects in Hungary, the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK, where she was a Visiting Arts Fellow at Delfina Foundation (2002–03). She later lived in Berlin and Singapore, re-entering the Asian art scene and founding Kersan Art Studio. Lenny has managed notable German-Indonesian projects, curated exhibitions, and served as Executive Secretary of the Indonesian Association of Sculptors (API). Her work has been featured in biennales across Indonesia, Germany, Bangladesh, and China. Recognized by Saatchi Gallery and R(A)ted Art, she won the UOB Painting of the Year Bronze Award (2018) and participated in Artfem – Biennale of Macau (2020).
