Biography

Born in Mayotte, Juliette Botolava is an artist based in Kani-Kéli, deeply passionate about art and creation. From a young age, she expressed herself through small drawings, guided by her overflowing imagination. A joyful and curious child, she loved creating, repairing, and bringing her dreams to life. In 2018, while studying in Nanterre, Juliette rediscovered painting as a form of generosity. Seeking to calm her stress and entertain her mother, she picked up a paintbrush to illuminate her face with a smile. This intimate moment became a revelation, marking the beginning of an intense and sincere artistic journey. A civil engineer specializing in metal structures, interior decorator, and dance enthusiast, Juliette combines strength and softness. She describes herself as having "a hand of iron in a velvet glove," balancing technical skills and artistic sensitivity. Through her vibrant works, Juliette celebrates the rich culture and nature of Mayotte, highlighting local biodiversity and reflecting simplicity, happiness, and diversity. For her, art is an exchange—a way to connect souls and share emotions. Inspired by her love for her family, especially her nieces and nephews, Aissa-Zoubéda and Kamil-Marley, Juliette finds endless inspiration in these bonds.
