Biography

Born in New Caledonia in 1970, French national Carole Jamin is a self-taught painter who has made Reunion Island her home for the past 21 years. Initially trained in technical drawing, civil engineering, and architecture, she opened a construction business at 24. In 2005, she decided to change careers and dedicate herself to painting, using art to express her vision of the world, her sensitivity, and her connection to her roots. In addition to her artistic practice, Carole is passionate about teaching and regularly holds painting and drawing workshops for people of all ages and abilities. She found her true calling in 2005 when she discovered her unique medium: sand. This innovation earned her recognition in 2011 with the Alain Gondon Trophy in France. Carole continues to evolve, recently exploring the use of line on canvas, while also creating and selling sand jewelry at Roland Garros airport. Her works, influenced by her travels, reflect cultural diversity and evoke emotion through bold textures and light.
