Charity Vaida Manhizwa Bandason is a Zimbabwean stone mason and sculptor who has broken barriers in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Born in 1975 in Guruve and raised in Bulawayo, her artistic journey began with a natural talent nurtured in Zimbabwe’s rich sculpting heritage. Inspired by the legendary Bernard Matemera, she transitioned from repairing broken sculptures to creating internationally recognized works. Despite personal tragedy, including the loss of her husband in 2010, she persevered, balancing motherhood and artistry with sheer determination. Today, she runs a monumental marble and granite business, proving that true talent, resilience, and passion can carve a lasting legacy. Her story is one of bold defiance, artistic excellence, and unwavering strength.
