Sannaliina is a Master of Arts from Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland. Her style is not typically Scandinavian, as she often uses vivid colors and extravagant patterns in her work. Still, a lot of inspiration she finds from nature, its forms and textures. She sees new tasks as creative challenges to be solved.
She loves colors, ornaments, light, and music… always listening to it while working. She is inspired by the Oriental culture, its arts, and architecture. They guide her towards creating more complex and decorative designs. In her art, she combines figures with action painting and calls it ‘Painting with Gold’ as it is done by gilding.
Her company Design Kuu creates applied arts mainly on textiles but also does fine bone china designs, engravings for glass and high-end products out of marbles and granites. She can handle a vast array of Art & Designing techniques and never hesitates to start with an unfamiliar material or a subject. Sannaliina says: ‘I feel honored when I am able to make people happy by bringing something special to their lives’.
