Biography

Valentina Campos is a third-generation Bolivian artist whose work explores feminine mythologies, traditional seeds, and Andean agro-centric symbolism. Since 2000, she has been developing her renowned painting series, Siembra de Mamalas, which reflects Andean sowing rituals, the role of women in indigenous cosmovision, and the protection of biodiversity. Her illustrations have been featured in various local and international magazines, books, posters, and stories. May the Ayllu Blossom marks her debut as a children's book author. Passionate about preserving indigenous artistic heritage, Valentina has collaborated with the NGO Centro de Diseño Artesanal y Cooperativa Campesina, Arte Campo in Santa Cruz, working closely with Guaraní, Chiquitano, and Ayoreo communities. In 2005, she co-founded Uywana Wasi, a Cultural Affirmation Learning Center near Cochabamba, dedicated to fostering indigenous traditions and artistic expression. Through her work, Valentina continues to celebrate and safeguard Bolivia’s rich cultural legacy.
