Biography

Rola Dlaykan is a Lebanese graphic designer and contemporary artist with a deep passion for Arabic calligraphy. Her artistic journey began in design and manufacturing, working with various mediums such as drawing, engraving, and glass painting. She later immersed herself in the study of Arabic calligraphy, drawn to its depth, originality, and fluidity. Her work explores the expressive nature of Arabic script, merging text with aesthetic elements to create visually and conceptually rich compositions. She believes in the interconnectedness of calligraphy, where form and meaning flow seamlessly. Rola has participated in numerous Lebanese and international exhibitions and cultural events. UNESCO has recognized her contributions to Arab culture, particularly in Arabic calligraphy. She has also received multiple awards, including winning the Rotana competition for the best photograph (2012) and the national competition for the best logo (2019) for World Environment Day, endorsed by the Lebanese Republic and the Ministry of Environment.
