Biography

Béatrice Neirinckx (CanB) is a Belgian visual artist born in 1970. She studied Art History at the Université Libre de Bruxelles before moving to Réunion Island, where she has lived and worked for over 30 years in arts and crafts and art education. Fifteen years ago, her artistic practice transformed when she participated in an in situ contemporary art festival. She shifted from ephemeral land art to working with recycled materials, primarily aluminum cans, highlighting themes of ecology, overproduction, and waste. Her work elevates discarded materials into art, encouraging new perspectives on sustainability. She has exhibited widely, including Mauritius (PORLWI by Night 2017), Réunion (Réunion Métis 2019, 2021), and Europe (France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy). She also leads artistic projects in schools to raise environmental awareness. Currently, she is completing a giant female sculpture to accompany her 26m-long chameleon in a Tour de France and Europe, spreading environmental and humanist messages.
